Picture of TOTALCARE P500 SURFACE The TotalCare P500 Surface is a hospital mattress and decubitis pad designed for use by individuals at risk for developing pressure sores. This antimicrobial wound care surface reduces pressure, shear, friction, and moisture, the four main causes of pressure ulcers. Weight-based pressure settings automatically and continuously distribute the patient's weight. The surface uses Microclimate technology to remove excess heat and moisture for cooler, dryer skin. A FlexAfoot mechanism helps prevent heel drop and prevents users from migrating towards the foot section. In sleep mode, the frequency of automatic pressure adjustments is reduced for up to eight hours, while keeping the surface within therapeutic range. An x-ray sleeve allows for x-ray cassette placement. Seat deflate lowers the seat section of the surface. The surface can be integrated with the TotalCare Connect bed (see entry). CAPACITY: 500 pounds, with 70 pound minimum.
