--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 3/2004) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Vision Epic is a lightweight sports wheelchair designed for daily or sports use by adults and children. FRAME: The rigid, triple cross-braced design provides optional stiffness to weight ratio. The frame can be folded for easy storage and is aircraft-grade aluminum construction. Rigid models with an optional Velocity or Velocity Plus package are availalable at an extra charge. SEAT: Standards seats are available in widths of 14 inches to 18 inches, in one inch increments. A 20-inch wide seat is available at an extra charge. Seat depths are available in 15 to 18 inches. Back height and style are available in three options; 14 to 18 inches, adjustable height, with push handle; 10 to 14 inches, adjustable height, with push handle; and 18 to 22 inches, adjustable height, with push handle. The standard back angle option is 5 degrees. Angles adjusted at 0 degrees, 10 degrees and 15 degrees are available at an extra charge. ARMRESTS: Swing-away arms are standard equipment. Adjustable-height armrests with desk length or full length pads can be ordered for an extra charge. BRAKES: Push-to-lock wheel locks are standard, high mount. CASTERS: 6 inch polyurethane casters are standard. Both 5 inch and 8 inch polyurethane casters are available at an extra charge, as are 6 inch and 8 inch pneumatic casters. WHEELS: 24-inch spoke wheels and a 24-inch molded wheel, both with pneumatic treaded tires are standard. A 24-inch spoke wheel with 559 rims and a pulstar hub turbo tire is available at an extra charge. Available standard handrims are constructed of anodized aluminum. Handrims constructed of coated black plastic or an eight vertical projection handrim are available at an extra cost. A 3 degree, auto-compensating wheel camber plate is standard design. Cambers are also available at 0 degrees and 6 degrees. FOOTRESTS: A tapered, swingaway vertical-release footrest is available as a standard component. A non-tapered footrest can also be ordered at no extra charge.
