IntelliPics is an academic tutorial program designed to teach basic skills, such as colors, numbers, sizes and direction for children with cognitive disabilities. This multimedia product enabls the incorporation of graphics, quick-time movies, animation, recorded sound, and synthetic recorded voice into educational activities. Included are five activities with an overlay for IntelliKeys (see separate entry): Animals, Make It Move, Nursery Rhymes, Butterscotch Brownies, and Funny Noises. IntelliPics is designed to be used with IntelliKeys, a mouse, a switch, a TouchWindow (see separate entry), or a standard keyboard.The program also enables overlays to be created (Overlay Maker required; see separate entry) to provide access each time a child uses a custom-designed activity. The screen and speech options may be customized to suit individual needs and tastes. The Windows version of this program includes a conversion program to convert Macintosh IntelliPics files to the Windows platform. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Macintosh computers or IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: The Macintosh version requires System 6.0.7 or higher, hard drive, and 4 megabytes (MB) RAM for System 6.07 or 8 MB RAM for System 7. The Windows version requires a 486 or better processor, Windows95, a VGA monitor (SVGA recommended), 8 MB RAM, and a Windows-compatible sound card.
