The Orion Low Floor Minibus is a low floor public transport van designed for use individuals with lower extremity, mobility or walking disabilities or spinal cord injury and others who use wheelchairs. This kneeling minibus has a full length flat floor and is available with a wide range of seating and internal layouts. Passengers can enter or exit via ramp or a single step. It has seating for up to 18 passengers, plus driver, with up to 16 passenger seats and space for up to 5 full sized wheelchairs if some passenger seats are removed. Each vehicle is custom built. Layouts combine fixed and removable seats and swing seats. The vehicle has double rear doors with a fold out ramp, and a single electric sliding front passenger entrance door with fold out ramp to the curb. The Orion has a monocoque chassis and body structure on a Fiat Ducato platform with rear independent trailing arms and air suspension. Its 157PS 3.0 litre Euro 5 diesel engine is available with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a Comfort-matic automatic transmission. The vehicle is also available on Peugeot Boxer or Citroen Relay platforms. Other features include discs brakes with anti-lock braking system, a color rear view camera and monitor, large windows and glass roof hatch, a luggage storage area, and electrically operated and heated exterior mirrors. OPTIONS: Climate control; coach back. DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): 2.645 x 7.472 x 2.2 meters, with a wheelbase of 4.89 meters. Step height is 280 millimeters (less than 250 millimeters when kneeling). Front entrance door is 965 millimeters wide.
