The Personal Success CD-ROM is an independent living and personal skills tutorial program designed for use by instructors of students with cognitive disabilities. This CD contains pictures and interactive activities to help students learn hygiene, dressing, and personal care skills. All pictures are accompanied by speech. Fifty-three activities are addressed step-by-step, with additional tips covering safety and convenience issues. Instructors can print pictures of these steps individually or in sequence to use as visual tools to teach the routines. The program covers simple and complex activities essential for personal care and hygiene under six headings: Personal care for women (including application of make-up and feminine hygiene); personal care for men (including shaving); personal care for everyone; dressing for success for women; dressing for success for men; and clothing care. Instructors can block out topic areas as needed. The pictures on this CD can be printed for use as cues or in checklists, and the interactive activities can be used to build language and vocabulary skills. COMPATIBILITY: For use with IBM and compatible computers or Macintosh Computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: The Macintosh version requires a PowerMac and operating system OS7.6 or later. The Windows version requires a Pentium processor or better and Windows 95 or later with a sound card. Both versions require 16-bit high-color graphics. OPTIONS: Intellikeys overlays.
