Picture of A-6 & A-6S The A-6 and A-6S are lightweight wheelchairs designed for use by individuals with mobility disabilities or spinal cord injury. FRAME: The A-6S comes standard with a rigid suspension and the A-6 is standard without the suspension. The overall width for both models is available from 20.75 to 34.5 inches. A tapered front end or a non-tapered V front end are available at no extra charge. The frame width and depth are available in a range of sizes from 14 x 14 inches to 20 x 20 inches in one-inch increments. Wheel-base nut and bolt adjustment is standard. Quick-release wheel-base adjustment is optional. Rear anti-tips are optional. The frame is available in a choice of 16 standard and four extra-cost colors. SEAT: The seat width and depth are available from 14 to 20 inches in one-inch increments; the seat to floor height ranges from 17 to 21.5 inches, depending on rear wheel and caster selections. An optional seat pouch and positioning belts are available. A fold-down back with a choice of a welded or bolt-on back rigidizer and without push handles is standard. A choice of five back-height adjustment ranges is available. A 90-degree straight back, a four- or eight-degree forward angle bend, or a four-degree backward angle bend are available at no charge. Bolt-on push handles, adjustable tension upholstery, and a backpack are extra-cost options. CUSHION: Cushions are extra-cost options and include a choice of an Essential Cushion, a single-density cushion, a personal seat cushion, Comfort-Mate Extra, or a choice of three Infinity cushion styles. A cushion rigidizer is also available. UPHOLSTERY: Sling upholstery. ARMRESTS: Swing-away padded armrests and height-adjustable full- or desk-length T arms are available. Additional options include fabric clothing guards, small or large rigid side guards, or small or large quad rigid side guards. BRAKES: Pull-to-lock wheel locks. Options include wheel lock extensions, hill holders, and undermount wheel locks. CASTERS: 3-inch roller blade or 5- or 6-inch composite front casters with urethane tires are standard. Options include 5-inch aluminum casters with urethane tires or 6 x 1.25 composite casters with pneumatic tires are optional. WHEELS: 22- , 24- , or 26-inch rear wheels in a variety of styles. Pneumatic tires are standard. Flat-free pneumatic tires, treaded urethane tires, 700C Umma Gumma tires, Primo tires, and KIK-black tires are available. Standard mounting is outside the handrim; inside mounting is available at no charge. Anodized aluminum handrims are standard. Plastic-coated handrims, black plastic-coated handrims, and plastic-coated handrims with vertical or oblique projections are available. FOOTRESTS: An adjustable-angle one-piece footboard is standard; a one-piece tubular Footrest is available at no charge. A basketball roller and impact guards are available. CAPACITY: Configurations are available for users weighing 100 pounds and under to users weighing 250 pounds. WARRANTY: Lifetime warranty on frame and crossbraces.
