The Saddle Cushions are foam, wedge foam, or foam and gel seat cushions designed for use in wheelchairs. Available with or without QuadraGel, these cushions are available in a wedge model that is lower in the back than in the front to prevent the user from sliding or thrusting forward, or in a Zero Elevation model that is the same height throughout. The cushions also feature rounded bottoms to prevent hammocking. The cushions have two layers of HR foam for comfort and a firm bottom layer for support. A coccyx cutout relieves pressure. The optional QuadraGel layer utilizes four chambers to keep the gel in position under the ischials for increased stability, reducing skin breakdown, heat buildup, and shear. The durable, pliable polyurethane bladder increases conformability and comfort. The built-in gel bladder resists moving and requires no kneading. Saddle geometry on all models aids in positioning, pressure relief, and comfort. Contoured leg adductors and pommel increase seating area for better weight reduction. The tapered sides follow the natural leg angle and allign the legs and reduce hip rotation. The cushions feature tapered sides to fit between wheelchair back canes, filling the gap between the sling seat and the back. An attached Kwik Strap loops around the anti-tip bars to secure the cushion. A staphCHEK Fusion Polyurethane Cover is included. DIMENSIONS: The wedge cushion drops 2.5 inches from the front to the back. The cushions are available in 16 x 16.5 inches or 18 x 18 inches.
