(Verified 08/2012) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Vocabulary Skillbuilder Series is an academic tutorial program designed to develop oral vocabulary words necessary for developing independent living skills for individuals who have difficulty with speech and language. When a student chooses one of several related pictures on screen, the word for that picture is spoken in human quality speech. Students can hear the word repeated as many times as they desire and then proceed to another related category of words. Grouping or categorization is modeled through related pictured appearing on the screen at the same time. There are eight programs: Food & Eating; Animals; Toys & Things; People, Family & Holidays; Household Furniture & Tools; School; Places & Transportation; Clothing & Body Parts. All eight programs are can be used with TouchWindow (see separate entry), single switch (scanning capabilities are built in) or keyboard. Programs are available on 5.25 or 3.5 inch disks individually ($29.95), in a complete set ($189.95), or in Lab Packs for five computers ($379.90). COMPATIBILITY: For use on Apple II computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Apple II+, IIE, IIc, IIgs, or Macintosh with an Apple IIe emulation card; 128K; color monitor; Echo Speech Processor (see separate entry).
