By Kuang, Cliff; Fast Company Magazine,
Publication Date: June 16, 2009

Article features an ergonomically designed syringe for use by persons with grasping disabilities. The Cimzia, which has been vetted by the Arthritis Foundation and approved by the Food and Drug Administration, was designed by the kitchen-appliance company OXO in collaboration with UCB Pharma. Ergonomic features of the Cimzia include (1) an oversized plunger rod and large thumb pad, (2) an oval syringe barrel which helps prevent spinning between fingers and magnifies graduation, (3) a nonslip finger grip which allows users to hold the syringe ready using various grip positions, and (4) a needle cover with a rounded finger loop for easy removal.
