The Sort and Count Rainbow Puzzle Busy Bag is designed to keep toddlers with special needs calm and focused while teaching counting, sorting, and color identification. There are a few options for fine motor play. Option two: color identification, sorting by number, and making a rainbow.
Step One: Gather materials.
- Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet cardstock
- Hole punch
Step Two: Hole punch each piece of cardstock. (The more hole punched dots, the bigger the rainbow can be.)
Step Three: Put hole punched dots into the bag.
Step Three: Engage in fine motor play. (There are three options.)
- Pull the dots out of the bad and write numbers on the dots, 1-35 on each color.
- On a flat surface make a rainbow with the dots, sorting them by color and number. Note: if the child cannot pick up and move the dots by hand, use a nail or another one of the hole punched dots to do so.
